If you were asked to spend a year living in a different location, where would you choose and why?

This probably isn’t the best thing to start my blog off with, but this prompt is really interesting so I couldn’t resist doing it. It’s also something I should probably be thinking about, since I’m going to college in a few years. (God, just the idea of that scares me!)

Now, if you asked me this question three months ago, I definitely would have said Japan. I’m sure a lot of people would agree with me too. Japan is a high-tech place with lots of new innovations, a unique culture, popular fashion, good food (or so I’ve been told); it actually sounds like a really cool place. And if I got the chance to go to two different places instead of just one, Japan would definitely be my second place.

As of late, though, I’ve really taken an interest in France, for multiple reasons actually. The main reason is my liking (obsession?) for a cartoon-turned-live-action kids’ show originating from France. Some of you may already know what I’m talking about, and if you do I already think you’re awesome. The show’s called Code Lyoko, and I have unbridled obsession for it, so being in the place where it started and getting to meet the actors in real life (especially Quentin Merabet and Mélanie Tran!) would be a dream come true! I’m also kind of a closet architecture geek (oops now you all know), and France has got the Eiffel Tower, of course, as well as some other cool stuff. I might not learn too much (other than the language of course) but it would be really fun to go to a different country and experience a different culture. Maybe that would be a learning experience in itself.

There’s a lot of other places I’d to visit too; the UK, Greece, Rome, and Sweden among others. Maybe I’ll just have to make this a project for myself and maybe some friends one day.
